Engaging Deeply in Community

Our heartbeat is to see holistic impact in the lives of least-reached & marginalized women. We are impacting groups of women through initiatives such as skills training, micro-business + savings groups, educational sponsorship and community outreach.

Impact testimonies through skills training:

“We praise God for a women who just gave her life to Jesus. Her husband has been a believer for two years, but she refused and though whatever he was believing in was fake. One day she was invited by her friend to attend the women’s skills training, and every time before they begin the skills, they will start with discovery Bible study (DBS). By God’s grace, this woman has now given her life to Jesus and got baptized.” - from the Sahel region

”One woman who attended the training was looked down on by her community because of her status being a single mother. Through the training she discovered her new identity in God, went back to her community and started a DBS group with her children and neighbours. Through this woman’s zeal, Women of Impact has now started a skills program with women in this community. It is a very closed community with no other known women believers, yet now these women are gathering for skills and DBS.” - from the Sahel region

“During the practical skill sessions of our Women’s DMM Training, we chose to teach on women’s health. We learnt how to make high quality reusable sanitary pads. We also learn that girls in our communities are dropping out of school due to lack of resources to buy sanitary products each month. This also linked to the topic we had on ‘access points’ and the group agreed that this will be our first focus area to connect with the community girls in Zimbabwe. We will start by making 500 sanitary pads to distribute to our sisters in such poor areas, showing the love of Jesus to them and inviting them to start DBS groups.” - from Zimbabwe

“I went through much abuse as a child and now have been abandoned by my children’s father who doesn’t allow me to see my children. This made me very frustrated, that I am not useful and I wondered what am I even living for? Until one day I was invited to attend the women’s training. When I took part in the discovery Bible study story of the Samaritan woman, I understood that God loves me, and I have been valued by God. He has given me a new freedom! I also learnt about hygiene and how to take care of myself as a woman. Now I am no longer frustrated, because I know God values me, loves me and I know my role as a woman. I am free in Jesus, I am happy and I belong!” - from Sierra Leone
